Transmitter
2026 · Ctrl.Light · Projection Mapping · Lille · France
Transmitter is a site-specific projection mapping developed during a creative residency with Rencontres Audiovisuelles and presented at the 2026 Lille Video Mapping Festival.
Located at one of the busiest points in Lille, the building becomes a temporary transmitter between the city and its viewers.
The work imagines the Café de Paris building as a living machine: a surface that receives the energy of the city, transforms it, and gives it back to the audience through light, rhythm and movement.
Through a sequence of abstract visual transformations moving from the base of the facade upward. The architecture appears to pass through different stages of activation, accumulation, and transmission, embodying the metaphor of a machine that receives, transforms, and broadcasts energy.
Creation Process
The project was developed during a residency that began in December 2025 at Arenberg Creative Mine.
During the residency, we worked on the concept and structure. The production continued afterwards through a series of iterations, gradually developing the idea into the final projection.
Created using After Effects, TouchDesigner, Cinema 4D, and Blender.
