Plaundophone
2022 · Generative Sound Installation · Recycle
PLA (Polylactic acid) + sound = PLAund
plaund + phone= plaundophone
concept
Plaundophone is a sound installation that reimagines the vinyl record player.
Disks made from recycled plastic feature unique color patterns, which act as triggers for sound events.
A video camera captures the patterns in real time, transforming them into generative sound.
Each disk, crafted from granules of recycled plastic, is unique, featuring its own original color pattern.
The interaction of color and sound creates an immersive experience, where visuals translate into auditory sensations.
This dynamic interplay invites viewers to explore a new perception of sound, as if hearing the colors themselves.
